Orchid 7 Fusion Bar and Grill, a subsidiary of Rapid Food Inc., was founded by Chef Yaye in 2020. The name Orchid is the name of her favorite flower and she is raising five kids with her husband, Claudison Jean-Francois.
Chef Yayehas been cooking since she was 8 years old. she’s always been around the kitchen with a sense of passion. Inspired by her grandmother, a street food vendor in her native Cayes, Haiti, who had this magic hand where she used just basic natural spices to make food taste amazingly flavorful.
A graduate of Baltimore International Culinary Institute Arts, Chef Yaye philosophy revolves around freshness, simplicity, nutrition value, authenticity, flavor, and presentation. Ultimately, the essence of cooking, she argues, lies in the taste. She believes that the fresher the ingredients and the simpler the recipe, the better the result. She does not need anything to overpower what she’s cooking. Seasoning, therefore, is the key.
To Chef Yaye, good food has no barrier, speaks a universal language, and serves as a strong bond that holds different backgrounds and races together. Anyone can relate to an awesome gastronomic experience. She tries to unite in every plate she serves.
Shawn Hunter comes to the Greater Boston area with an impressive 20+ year career of visible achievements in the food service industry. He’s held leadership positions in Bars, QSR & Restaurant operations, and has contributed to sales of over 40 million dollars annually in the past five years. Additionally, he has kept three chains of stores in the top five sales across Eastern America.
Shawn owned a successful neighborhood sports bar & grill, Micas Sita, in New Jersey before selling it and relocating to Florida. He has hired, trained, and developed managers to succeed at the highest level of restaurant management performance. Shawn came to Boston as a managing partner with The Catalyst Ventures Hospitality group, overseeing operations for two of Boston’s Historic Restaurants/Bar/Nightlife: Darryl’s Corner Bar & Kitchen & Slade’s Bar and Grill. He is currently a consultant for local restaurants in Boston, such as Orchid 7 Fusion Bar & Grill, and was instrumental in launching Park 54 Restaurant & Lounge.
Given his years of experience, Shawn joins the Rapid Food Inc. team and will spearhead all operations and daily functions.
Paul Bushell grew up on the South Shore of Barbados. He attended The Lodge School in earlier years studying at Barbados Community Hospitality Institute. Paul Migrated to the United States in 1999. He began his career in Culinary/Management career. The Cheesecake Factory for 7 years, 7 years at the Yard House Restaurant, and a little over 5 years at Davio’s Italian Steak House. Paul has been an important part of the birth of Orchid 7 and the growth of Orchid 7.
